Married In The Courthouse
During a recess of the County Court, on Wednesday, the 8th, a colored couple, Patrick Merrill and Mrs. Mary Wilks, were “united in the holy bonds of matrimony by Rev. Benjamin H. Venable, a colored, in the Courthouse. This is the first time a “bitch” of this kind has ever been pronounced in our temple of justice.
