At a parade of the 1st. Virginia Battalion of colored troops at Norfolk on the 5th, there was a crowd of several thousands of colored people, who obstructed the ground, and the major commanding called upon the police to clear the way. The negroes assailed the police with stones, and a number were injured. The soldiers would not help the officers. Five of the leaders were subsequently arrested. The city was the scene of the most disgraceful disturbance.
